Leanne Yau

non-monogamy educator, sex positivity advocate, and queer therapist in training

About

Leanne Yau (she/they) is a British award-winning polyamory educator, sex-positive advocate, speaker, writer, and queer therapist in training. After graduating with an Oxford law degree, she (much to the disappointment of her Asian parents) founded the social media project Poly Philia in 2020, where she creates and curates daily bite-size multimedia content on non-monogamy, queerness, neurodivergence, and sex positivity. Leanne has been actively non-monogamous since she was 17 years old, and her content draws from her lived experiences as a bisexual, autistic and ADHD, Chinese non-binary femme.

Leanne was named one of ‘15 LGBTQ+ Educators Who Took Instagram Infotainment To The Next Level’ by Buzzfeed in 2021, one of Cosmopolitan's '10 Polyamory Experts to Follow on TikTok' in 2022, and appeared alongside prominent sex and relationship thought leaders and psychotherapists Esther Perel and Nedra Tawwab in Men’s Health’s ‘60 Top Influencers Who Are Actually Worth the Follow’ in 2023. She launched the Happy Polydays podcast miniseries, appears in online and in-person talks, workshops, panels, and lectures on non-monogamy, provides non-monogamous peer support to individuals and couples across the globe, and has also narrated several audiobooks on polyamory. She is currently in training to become a therapist.
