You Might Be Using ‘Metamour’ Wrong…
Some of you, I'm not naming names, are using the word ‘metamour’ wrong. metamour means your partner's partner. So your partner once removed effectively. So my boyfriend's girlfriend is my metamour. And if I have two partners, they are metamours to each other.
But in some polyamorous forums, I've been seeing people saying “my husband's metamour” when they actually mean my metamour. Your husband's metamour would be your husband's partner's partner. But if what you actually mean is your husband's partner, that's your metamour. Hope this clears things up. Have a nice day.
Fun fact - February 14 is Valentine’s Day, and February 28 is Metamour Day. So please celebrate your partner’s partners!
