On Putting “Polyamorous” In Dating Profiles

A lot of people read "polyamorous" in a dating profile and think "single until I convince them to be monogamous for me". If you are partnered AND polyamorous, and state that in your profile, you're slightly more likely to weed out those folks.

It's unfortunate that people don't respect boundaries unless you're in a relationship (and even if you are, they often still don't!) but it is what it is.

If you have a partner, do you disclose this in your dating profile? Obviously you can do whatever you want, but I personally choose to do so. Not only so I can weed out people who think I'm just temporarily polyamorous, but also to let people know what capacity I have for new partnerships - and of course, we can hash out more details if we match.
