Are You Ready For Polyamory?

The truth is that polyamory isn’t something to be glamorised or demonised - there are pros and cons to any relationship style. For me, polyamory is what works and feels most emotionally rewarding, but that might not be the case for everyone. You’re allowed to explore and decide what is and isn’t for you.

If you are curious about non-monogamy after a long history of monogamy, your enthusiasm and excitement to try something new won’t change the fact that the changes you need to make will be a LOT for your nervous system to deal with. For many people, expectations don’t necessarily match reality, and you need to be resilient and good at relational skills like proactive communication, clear boundary-setting, and balanced conflict resolution to make it through to the other side.

My secrets as someone who's been doing it since 2016:

  • Get comfortable with UNCERTAINTY and CHANGE - especially when opening up from long-term monogamy

  • Polyamory will CHALLENGE EVERYTHING you were told about love and commitment - be ready to UNLEARN your mononormative mindset

  • More freedom also means more RESPONSIBILITY, and COMMUNICATION, VULNERABILITY

Are you sure you're up for it?
