Polyamorous People Are Just Trying To Exist
Polyamorous people who are simply existing and minding their own business are NOT to blame if someone close to them realises they are also non-monogamous and their monogamous partner is upset by this. Blame mononormativity, not some random person just trying to live their life.
Polyamorous people often make monogamous people nervous, because they present a possibility that most monogamous people were never even aware of or would never think to entertain - and while it is upsetting for your partner to realise something about themselves that leads to the end of your relationship, the problem is not the person who made them realise this, but the system we live under which deludes us into thinking there is only one "correct" relationship option.
