Positive Polyamorous Representation in Movies and TV

‘Challengers’ was one of my favourite films of 2023, but don’t get it twisted - it is not a polyamorous love triangle. It is certainly a triangle (the homoeroticism between the two male leads - WHEW!), but to me it’s more like a k!nky triangle of power, resentment, and objectification. Not love. But it got me thinking about what I consider good polyamorous representation, which is relatively thin on the ground, so here are some things I’ve enjoyed in the past:

  1. Sense8 (show)

  2. Good Trouble (show, polyamorous subplot)

  3. Paint Your Wagon (film)

  4. Design For Living (film)

  5. Half-Bad aka The Bastard Son and the Devil Himself (show)

  6. Trigonometry (miniseries)

  7. What We Do In The Shadows (show)

  8. Our Flag Means Death (show)

  9. Black Sails (show)

  10. Professor Marston and the Wonder Women (film)

And, if you want more recommendations and detailed breakdowns, why not check out the film/TV reviews I’ve done on my Patreon and Youtube of polyamory in the media?
